Nightlife secured in tomorrow's Rotterdam
During this event, we explored various options for a vibrant, safe and accessible nightlife in Rotterdam. We delved into case studies to learn from and looked for solutions for the future. The evening started with a presentation by Lutz Leichsenring, chairman of the Berlin Club Commission, on what we can learn from Berlin in terms of placemaking, placekeeping and nightlife policy. This was followed by a panel discussion with Lara Jade Vleeschhouwer, Hans de Jonge, Rosie Okhionkpamwionyi and Mitchel Sam Sin on Rotterdam and its 24-hour economy. the third programme item was a panel on urban development in relation to the night. With Nikki van Dijk, Maurice Boumans and Folkert van Haagen, we focused in particular on how nightlife can claim and maintain its place in an increasingly densifying city. Both talks were led by Siobhan Burger. Finally, a poetic bow was put on the evening by Tyler Koudijzer.
